Emily Smith is a mom of four children in USD 250 schools, a longtime educator, and a small-business owner. She spent nearly 20 years in education, including 14.5 years teaching English and journalism at Pittsburg High School, where she guided students in building a nationally award-winning journalism program.

With deep roots in Pittsburg and a passion for public education, Emily is committed to ensuring every child has the tools to succeed, supporting and retaining quality teachers, and strengthening the partnership between schools, families, and the community.
